Narrative Description of Project:
Provision of a Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for the natural gas distribution network for the Emirate of
Abu Dhabi, as well as bid documents for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction phase. The deliverables
also included a long term financial analysis incorporating projected consumption and anticipated variations in
commodity prices.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Staff:
The FEED included the supply study, determining upstream supply capacity, redundancy requirements and selection
of pipeline routes. Design parameters and philosophies were documented in a Design Basis Memorandum (DBM)
which also included a comprehensive HAZOP study. Design Specifications as well as Material Standards &
Specifications, Construction Standards & Specifications, Network Analysis & Design, Drawings and Approval
Protocols were included. The package was expanded to include the development of bid documents for EPC
contractors.
